It’s been hammered home. Eat five portions of fruit and veg a day for maximum health benefits. But now scientists say fatty foods can stop the effects. Hang on a minute. Let’s see if this is real science. Is there a bias in the research?
I find it interesting that the research comes from Glasgow, the fatty capital of the UK. While I am not doubting the integrity of the researchers involved, it must be asked if a desired outcome in terms of health education was not grasped.
Health is always of vital importance, but a time must come when we have to apply common sense to what the scientists tell us. Are they saying fatty foods are always wrong? If so, we’ll all have to become vegetarians. I, for one, would then die of boredom.
