HOSTAGES TO INEPTITUDE

The freed Iran hostages and their stories. What a stir – they’re almost as good as those of the politicians. But not quite.
The idea to allow service personnel to sell their stories was a bad idea, but which idiot really allowed it? The buck stops with Defence Secretary Des Browne – but not a total admission. Still a hint of ‘it wasn’t my fault, really.’
Of course, it’s a storm in a tea cup in the grand scheme of things. Yet the Tories still seem unable to get stuck in – to put the political boot up the proverbial ass …
The politics of ineptitude is with us still. Which is disastrous … as another four dead arrive home …
