As I predicted, our ‘esteemed leader’ has not called a snap General Election. This is not because Gordon Brown was scared off by David Cameron’s sudden bounce in the polls, but because he has nothing but contempt for the British public.
Underneath the modernisms, Brown is an old style socialist, and what socialists always knew is that they know best, and their public had to be directed. Hence, they have an equal contempt for the democratic process.
Brown will hang on for as long as he can, hoping to somehow subvert his way to an election victory when it finally comes. Cameron would do well to understand this, abandon his ‘non-confrontational’ style, and go for Brown at every opportunity.
Nothing less will do, I’m afraid.
