THE NON-INTERNET PROVIDERS

Totalitarian creeps relentlessly on. Now the UK government is proposing that service providers be legally made to take action against those who carry out pirated downloads. Talk of being barred from the internet is in the air.
Apart from the laziness of the police for being unable to work out valid counter-measures themselves, this is yet another seemingly ‘good’ idea to stop criminals which has a devastating twist in the tale.
NuLabour does this all the time. They put forward an innocuous sounding proposal which actually breaks a fundamental principle – in this case, freedom of the internet. And once the principle is broken, it is easier to do it next time on something more dictatorial.
As I said, totalitarianism creeps relentlessly on.

Must read this - HISTORY OF MAN

Narrated in short, accessible posts, why not take a look at my History of Man? Rather than concentrating on specific events, I attempt to show the 'patterns' of history, thus showing clearly how we got to today.

Actually, no, we don't. That's why we keep complaining. But don't worry, it'll be coming your way eventually.
