So, Terminal 5 at Heathrow opens to chaos, with baggage lost, flights cancelled, walkways sticking and people not knowing where they should be. Could we have expected anything else?

Well, BA and BAA thought so.

But this is the problem with today’s Big Biz mentality. The best way to be is ‘big’. But it isn’t. Big is the way to disaster. Heathrow should be downgraded to a one terminal airport, and services distributed throughout the country, linked by decent, fast rail connections.
But that won’t happen. Things will improve at Terminal 5 – not the service, but the way they hide the problems – PR, in other words. Big systems never work, with everyone having nightmare tales to tell about them.
It will be some time yet before we realize that ‘big’ is in terminal decline.

I didn't know Heathrow was having problems. You are right, sometimes "big" isn't better. Over here everything is pure GREED. It's everywhere. Have a great day and thanks for playing the story game. Can't wait to see what someone does with all those frogs. Prince + frogs....Bwahahahaha. Have a great weekend. :)

Hi Sandee,
Yep, big is all wrong. The customer becomes second rate to the corporation, and profit is all.
And I absolutely deny I was thinking of our Prince Charles as I wrote the story fragment :-)
