Rumours are, cameras are to be deployed in the UK to catch motorists throwing litter from cars. This comes following one council being caught following a three year old from school to see if her parents were cheating sending her there.
Doesn’t it just make you ashamed to be British! What the hell are we doing in this country? Pathetic petty officials will always try to have absolute power over us – it is the nature of the inadequate. But why do we allow it?
Why are we not hammering on the doors of local councils, reminding them that they work for us, not the other way round? Be warned, this sheepish complacency is the way totalitarianism comes. And if you think it can’t happen in the modern western world, wake up!

On average we each feature on 300 cctv screens each day! As for the schoolgirl, it should not be necessary to choose between schools. If our education system properly run all schools would deliver equally.

Hi Keith,
I can't disagree with you there! But how to achieve it? I find it amazing that, even though Grammar schools were scrapped, society re-arranged itself through housing to reinstate them in all but name.
How do you fight this?

Absolute power corrupts absoluetly. It's the same over here. They truly believe we are to bow to them. Once elected they change and not for the good either. I've watched many of them fall too. They thought the laws didn't apply to them. Have a great weekend. :)

Hi Sandee,
Very true. It's maybe unfair to some, but I've an idea that such local posts are filled by inadequates. And come the dictatorship, they are the petty sadists that keep the big sadists in power.
It is a self-esteem thing.

Important post, anthony! Again I agree completely. However, I think people who throw litter from their car should be hung (hanged?), drawn and quartered!! Ha!

Hi The Teach,
Oh yes, litter bugs are a real pain. But I don't like the way how bad manners among a few leads to everyone being watched.
There's something deeply scary and Orwellian about it.

Pretty soon you'll have your government listening in on private phone conversations.

Hi Marilyn,
Indeed. If I remember, there are already moves afoot to make it easier to get permission for phone taps.
