The Tibetan Torch ran into a few difficulties on its journey across London. Whilst I would never condone violence, it was nice to see the spirit of protest has returned. Are we at last throwing off our ‘sheep’ status?
Hopefully, the Tibetan Torch will receive similar displays of disgust everywhere it goes. Of course, the Olympics should not be boycotted, but at every stage I think the protest should go on.
China wants to enter the modern world. Well, at present it is not fit to do so. And the more we tell them this, the better. Ideally, I would like to see a gesture of salute to Tibet from every gold medalist. Let’s see how China manages to explain no medals won in its media.
